In this age of do-it-yourself home improvements and/or handymen, it's important to understand just why it's the law to use a licensed plumber and HVAC contractor. Handymen and homeowners cannot be familiar with all the codes and statutes regarding plumbing and HVAC. Poor water and air quality can lead to damage of the environment and to health issues.
